He moved to the Glasgow firm of Wilson Chalmers & Hendry in 1976 to continue with this type of work, becoming a partner in 1979.
Jim set up Reid Cooper with Louise Cooper in 1998 when both considered that developments in the insurance market meant there was a significant place for a niche firm. He acts for a wide range of clients, including the Police and Fire & Rescue Services. He appeared in the Lanarkshire E-Coli Inquiry and has appeared in many high profile Fatal Accident Inquiries involving deaths in custody. Jim is instructed by the Law Society of Scotland in Professional Regulation matters.
Jim is a keen tennis player and is also is a past President/Director of Tennis West of Scotland Limited.
